The history tells us about development the USA as a country of immigrants. There is a cause of unusual status of American culture and society. Living in Brooklyn, NY, I can see enriching by the cultures and traditions of many immigrants all over the world. As many other countries, the USA is far from welfare country. I see many problems here such as sickness, crimes, poverty, and immorality. There are not only in the USA. Our planet has the same problems. Therefore, it would be well to think about them. Totally, our world is going to the end of its history. Only sacred truth can help each man and society as a whole.
We can learn from each other. A lot of people after arriving in New York begin to criticize American life, lifestyle of big city and cultural features. I think the criticism is not wisdom, but many people do it; because they do not receive at this country everything they have dreamed about. We have to know that in this world there are no absolutely right or absolutely wrong judgments and formula of success.
Generally, United States has a specific conception of freedom. I have been living in New York more than two years. I have noticed that the USA now is not really a country of freedom, but a country of prosperity. The people would rather give up freedom for the sake of income or sufficiency. After 911-tragedy the government implements a law that society needs total control in airports, public places, tougher customs inspection, interception of calls and many others same actions. American people have not protested about it, in spite of the fact that these actions greatly restricted their freedom. Each day you must think about many restrictions; if you break them you would lose money or something more. The people live under a fear of the laws. Therefore, the USA is named “the country of lawyers” that can fight for people against or inside the justice system.
Some laws are necessary for discipline in society because of human imperfection and dilapidation. I am a driver. Each day I drive and see how the people need the laws, particularly on the road. I have had a few tickets and when I received them I thought about injustice between violation and penalty. But then I realized that if I knew about the risk I had to avoid doing wrong things. This understanding helps me to obey laws.
However, some rules are not necessary or meaningful, although their violation would be profitable for the city budget or strengthening the role of the government. For example, in this country parents cannot beat children as a method of discipline. But the sacred religious books welcomed this action. On the contrary in American society physical punishment is a crime. As a result, children become a generation of moral moron, who doesn’t respect their parents. Why? The government requires to children to inform against their parents in case of “child abuse”. In this case, the institution became higher than family. What will the future of these people be? One proverb in my country tells: “don’t put out the trash outside you home”. It means, the family should determine the problem without strangers’ participation from outside. If the family can solve the problem by itself, it would make family relations stronger. When I work in school, I could put students on a seat by force, I could lift my voice. I feel that I am a teacher and I deserve the respect. In America I have learned that teachers in high school are not able control students. The children have the absolute freedom in their behavior. I think American society has to follow ancient traditions, like people in Russian province do. In my country young people respect the adults. At the outside, youth cannot ignore the will of elder generation.
The root of understanding this issue is in development history of world. The United States has high level of life because of following the laws and founding on the Christian principles. Other countries have low level of life because they do not follow the laws and have wrong religious ways. Consequently, immigrants have difficulties with integrating into American lifestyle. They should make some changes in their mind and adapt a new culture. On the other hand, they do not want to assimilate here. Therefore, they begin to perceive the USA as not perfect country and try to find many problems in American life.
I cannot find ideal areas of human life for transferring from my native country to my present domicile. My country is also far from ideal. Furthermore, the search of panacea from people to people seems like an extinguishing a fire by kerosene. I prefer to follow the classical traditions and everlasting wisdom, which proceed from supernatural source. What is this source? Everyone should find it by on one's own way.
